When a client uses their MultiPass card abroad or makes a purchase
in a currency different from their card’s default currency, the
transaction amount is first converted according to the Mastercard
exchange rate, which is the most transparent and commonly
referenced rate between global banks.
To cover the fees imposed by card partners and facilitate the
currency conversion process, MultiPass adds a 1.5% currency
exchange fee on top of the Mastercard rate.
This approach ensures that the exchange is processed fairly and
efficiently, while also providing a clear breakdown of the costs
involved in international transactions.
